John Wieland, Director of Campus Security for Peace College, is an ASIS Board Certified Protection Professional (CPP), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and holds a Criminal Justice Instructor Certification. He has an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Security Management. He is a former Chairman of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) NC Research Triangle Park Chapter 119 and he has presented at many meetings and led workshops on several aspects of security to both professional and student audiences.

John’s background has been in law enforcement (campus and municipal), and proprietary and contract security for a combined total of over seventeen years. John joined Progress Energy www.progress-energy.com in 1994 as Contract Security Account Manager and in 1997, as an employee of Progress Energy, was responsible for the technology assessment, operation and development of the in house command center. As Facility Access and Security Specialist, John was responsible for managing physical security systems (non-nuclear) at company-wide sites. www.peace.edu
